What We Believe
About God
God exists in three distinct but coequal persons having the same perfect nature, same attributes, same worthiness of worship, however with different functions.
God the Father
Is the father of all mankind, and the spiritual father of all believers. He saves all that come to Him through His son Jesus. He is all powerful, worthy of praise, and everything is ordered and sustained through Him.
God the Son
Jesus Christ, knowing the sinfulness of man, made himself our sacrifice that we may have eternal life. He being fully God, descended to earth through the form of birth by a virgin, taking a fully human form to become the sacrifice for us. On earth He was fully God, and fully man. He went through the same temptations, pains and problems we as humans endure, and did not sin. He sacrificially gave His life on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and will come again for believers who remain on the earth.
God the Holy Spirit
Indwells believers, guiding us into a closer relationship with God. He administers spiritual gifts to believers. He convicts us of our sin and molds us into a more perfect creation.
About the Bible
We believe the Bible is the Word of God given to man. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In the original manuscripts it is without error. It is the final authority in faith and practice for the believer.
Mankind
Every man is a sinner in need of savior. No man is good enough, or can do enough to erase the sin in his life. This sin was passed through the first man, Adam, and is in every person ever born with the exception of Jesus. Man was created in God's image, and is designed to ultimately glorify God.
Salvation
Is the confession of a need for a savior, putting your faith in Jesus to be that savior, and repenting from your sin. The gift of salvation can not be earned through good works, but only through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus. The repentant sinner's life however will show good works as an outward sign go the inward regeneration.
